Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackles Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick have reportedly been arrested for marijuana possession, according to KSHB’s Aaron Ladd. Morris, a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is currently battling for the starting left tackle job while Godrick spent the 2023 season on the practice squad as part of the International Pathway Program.

While Wanya Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick were both arrested, both players have since been released on bond.

Wanya Morris, Chukwuebuka Godrick Arrested For Marijuana Possession

The Wayna Morris and Chukwuebuka Godrick arrests are just the latest development in what has been a terrible offseason for the Kansas City Chiefs. Since hoisting their second Lombardi in as many seasons, the team has been unable to avoid negative headlines. Between Rashee Rice’s multiple arrests, Harrison’s Butker’s controversial speech, Kadarius Toney’s Instagram Live, and Xavier Worthy’s stolen car, Kansas City seems unable to stay out of trouble.

The recently arrested Wanya Morris originally entered the NFL as a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Selected by the Chiefs, the Oklahoma product spent the majority of his rookie season on the bench. Playing behind veteran Donovan Smith, Morris finished his inaugural season appearing in 14 games while making four starts and earning a 55.6 PFF grade in limited snaps.

Chukwuebuka Godrick, meanwhile, spent the 2023 season with the Chiefs but did not appear in a regular season game. A Nigeria native, the offensive tackle originally joined the team via the International Player Program. While he didn’t earn a spot on the 53-man roster and has yet to make his official NFL debut, he spent the year as a member of the practice squad.

As of this posting, the league has not yet announced any potential discipline for Morris or Godrick. Additionally, both players remain on the Chiefs 90-man roster.
